What is an EPP flower pots mold?

This is a large, precision, and expensive set of metal tools used in a specialized machine (steam forming machine) to mold EPP raw material granules into flowerpots of specific shapes and sizes in a single operation.

Key features of the mold:

Material: Typically made of high-quality aluminum alloy (good heat dissipation, fast production cycle) or mold steel (durable, suitable for ultra-high-volume production).

Complex structure: The mold has a precision steam channel system, cooling water channel, and vacuum exhaust system. It must be able to precisely control the penetration and distribution of steam to ensure that the raw material granules in every corner expand and fuse evenly.

The main shape and texture of the flowerpot (such as imitation ceramic or rattan weaving).

Precise drainage holes (directly formed by ejector pins on the mold).

Reinforcing ribs and bottom support structure.

Feeding: EPP raw material beads are injected into the closed mold cavity.

Steam Forming:

Preheating: A small amount of steam preheats and softens the beads.

Penetrating Heating: High-pressure saturated steam rapidly and evenly penetrates the bead stack through the mold’s channels, causing it to expand upon heating.

Fusion: Under pressure and steam, the expanded beads fuse together at their contact surfaces, forming a monolithic foam product.

Cooling and Shaping: Cooling water is introduced to lower the mold temperature, allowing the product to solidify and set.

Demolding and Removal: The mold is opened, and the formed EPP flowerpot is ejected through air vents or an ejector mechanism.
